What does cupping do for you?Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
Sessions are typically 60 or 90 minutes (5 minutes for pre-interview, instructions, and client getting ready for session; 50 or 80 minutes of bodywork; 5 minutes to get dressed and checkout). Depending on the techniques used, a session can range from very relaxing to very intense. The client is usually receiving structural, myofascial, or injury massage involving cupping, Graston and stretching and should wear athletic clothing. This allows the therapist to move the client, stretch them, and get them into different positions that make the session more effective.
